California Rice
Renowned the world over for its taste, quality, and consistency, California rice (referred to as Calrose) is the popular choice amongst discerning chefs and consumers alike.
California typically produces two million metric tons of rice every year with the normal growing season between April (planting) and October (harvest). Once the rice is harvested in the fall, it is dried and stored in paddy form until ready to mill; the hulls of the rice help protect the kernel during storage leading to a high quality level no matter what time of year the rice is milled.
